Koh Phangan Today is a small local website that lists what is happening on the island. We are based in Srithanu, Koh Phangan, Surat Thani, Thailand.
Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) applies to us. Many of our visitors are European, so we also follow the GDPR standard: we collect the least we can, we tell you what it is for, and you can have it removed.
We use contact details for one thing: to publish and run the event listings, and to reach you about them. We do not sell your details, we do not rent them, and we do not pass them to advertisers.
We keep business contact details for as long as the business is listed with us, and personal details until you ask us to delete them — whichever comes first.
The site is hosted by Netlify, and our channels run on WhatsApp and Telegram. Those companies see technical data such as your IP address as part of delivering the service, under their own privacy policies. We have no control over that, and we receive none of it.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the address at the bottom of this page. We will answer within 30 days, and we will not ask you why.
Leaving a WhatsApp or Telegram channel is enough to stop hearing from us there — you do not need to email us first.
Children. This site is not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their details. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.
We collect and publish what is happening on Koh Phangan. We are not the organiser of the events listed here, we do not sell tickets to them, and we are not a party to anything you arrange with a business you found through us.
Times change, venues move, classes get cancelled, and the weather on this island decides a lot. We check what we publish, but we cannot promise it is correct at the moment you read it. Confirm directly with the organiser before you travel across the island for something.
The same goes for the island guide: ferry times, prices and Thai law change. Anything that matters to you — check it against an official source.
The writing, design and island guide on this site are ours. You are welcome to link to any page, quote a little with credit, or print a page for your own use. Please do not copy it wholesale onto another site.
We offer this site as it is, free of charge. We are not responsible for what happens at an event you found here, for a business that lets you down, or for a decision you made based on something on this site that turned out to be out of date. Nothing here removes any right you have under Thai law.
If we change this page in a way that matters, we will change the date at the top and say so on our channels.
